OK, it’s music week, but Made in Dagenham has a soundtrack by Sandy Shaw so it’s not entirely unrelated. More to the point, it’s about women striking for equal pay which should be a good way to get the topic back into the public consciousness, regardless of whether the film’s any cop. Women working full time in the UK still earn an average of 16.4% less than men working full time in the UK, which, The Fawcett Society point out, is equivalent to men being paid all the year round while women work for free after 2 November. They’ll be doing more campaigning nearer that time, so we’ll keep you updated with how you can get involved. In the meantime, here’s the trailer for Made in Dagenham.
